POETRY: For Robert Peterson (Who Was My Grandfather)

she still loves
you and i
think there is something
to be said for that
i wish i could
remember half
of what
she’s told me
you seem like you
could have been good
at times
i have hated you
which is not fair
but still is
sometimes true
feelings never go away
no matter how hard
we all try to forget
