I’m sure you have a big celebration planned already, but just in case you forgot, Earth Day is Thursday April 22nd. And while climate change is surely the biggest crisis facing the planet, this week, we’re calling attention to another aspect of environmentalism.

This week’s writing prompt allows you to take the word RECYCLE and put it to any use that suits you. Want to write about recycling waste? Go for it. Want to write about friends who come into and out of your life? Knock yourself out. Want to recycle the concept of recycling? Amazing. Can’t wait to read about it.

This Week’s Writing Prompt: RECYCLE

This week, we’re looking for new original pieces, using RECYCLE as our prompt.

If you’ve got an inspired ideas about how to respond to this week’s prompt, send us your submission of 400-700 words. Write us anything that comes to mind when you think of RECYCLE. It can be a personal essay, a poem, short story, script, or anything else original and fresh. Ironic or sincere, real or imagined—just make it worth our while and we’ll publish it, include it in our newsletter, and give you the chance to join the creative, talented staff writers here at The Prompt.

Email your responses to kelaine.conochan@thepromptmag.com by Friday April 23rd at midnight EST.
