Every year, Spotify pulls together all your user data into one tidy little summary and then sends it to you as a neat little experience called Spotify Wrapped. What artists did you listen to most? What songs did you play on repeat? What were your binge listens?

But by now, that’s kinda conventional. So, we asked our staff to get a little creative.

Give us your “Spotify Wrapped,” but for ________. You fill in the blank.

Natalie Brandt

Spotify Wrapped, but for Journal Entry Themes, in descending order. Top 5.

  • Turns out I’m a romantic. A pathetic romantic. And I need him to romance me like I’m in a fucking movie. I know we blew our lives up for each other, and the kids are all fine, but I need him to buy me some goddamn flowers or leave me a love note. Like he used to. When we were sneaking around.
  • I forgive my mom. For all of it.
  • Today, I am seriously committed to having only one glass of wine.
  • Brené Brown is really onto something. But I‘m so glad Audible is available because I’m way too embarrassed to read her shit in the open. Even at home. I don’t want to field questions about my Gifts of Imperfection.
  • I tried meditation again. I mean, I failed at meditation again.

Sarah Razner

Spotify Wrapped, but for Shopping

You discovered 2 new shops in 2020 that you can’t afford but desperately want to buy things from, including:

  • Boden
  • Draper James

One store that helped you through it all…

Your top store in 2020 was Target

Your top items were:

  • High-waisted jeans (5 pairs—Did you work out during the pandemic or are you hiding extra pounds with the jeans?)
  • Tea (3 canisters of loose leaf tea, including your favorite flavor pun Bohemian Raspberry)
  • Decorations (2 pictures, three frames, and countless seasonal knickknacks)
  • Funko POPs (A number we’re even too embarrassed to print—are you okay?)

Your biggest binge was:

Books. What can we say, Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club has some good selections?

Kelonnie Harris

Spotify Wrapped, but for Online Window Shopping.

You discovered 7 new online stores with clothing items you like to stare at, but probably won’t purchase until you have a job and are in a better position to transition gender expressions in 2020, including:

  • The Wrap Life
  • TomboyX
  • SHEIN
  • Romwe
  • The Mint Julep
  • Topshop
  • Goby shoes

One online shop helped you get through it all… Your top spot for mindless, aspirational internet scrolling in 2020 was:

ANN TAYLOR

Second only to THREDUP, which you browsed for a dose of practicality.

Your top searches were:

  • Floral anything
  • A-line midi skirts
  • Oversized Graphic Tees & Sweaters with Dropped Shoulders
  • Bomber Jackets
  • Camisoles
  • Denim Jacket with Faux-Fur

The only new clothing you actually purchased was a set of satin-lined beanies (pink, black, and grey), that make your head look squidlike and may be too small for you.

*Thanks for spending 2020 with us.*

Kelaine Conochan

Spotify Wrapped, but for SNACKS.

You discovered 4 new snacks in 2020, including:

  • Unsweetened dried mango
  • Horseradish sweet pickle slices
  • Brown sugar Pop Tarts
  • Stroopwafels

One snack helped you get through it all… Your top snack for 2020 was

TRAIL MIX

Your top genres were:

  • Trail mix (4,263 handfuls)
  • Hint of lime tortilla chips (626 handfuls)
  • Unsweetened dried mango (378 slices)

Your biggest binge was: a entire 15 oz. container of hummus with tortilla chips and baby carrots, PLUS 3 kosher dill pickle spears.

*Thanks for spending 2020 with us.*

Erin Vail

Spotify Wrapped, but for YouTube videos:

You discovered one new channel in 2020:

Architectural Digest

You watched so many videos of celebrities showing off their houses! These were your most shared:

You also watched a lot of Vogue’s 73 Questions.

But there was one video that got you through this year more than any other:

Thanks for taking breaks from work with us this year!

Sydney Mineer

Spotify Wrapped, but for BOOKS

You discovered 7 new novels through Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club!

She knows how to pick them, people.

You read several debut novels including:

  • Such A Fun Age by Kiley Reid
  • The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary
  • Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore
  • Creatures by Crissy Van Meter

Your most read genre was…. Romance (you good?)

Your fastest binge was Verity by Colleen Hoover.

324 pages in 2 days! Including one night filled with startlingly spooky paranoia

These titles have taken up permanent residence, rent-free, in your mind:

  • House of Mirth by Edith Wharton
  • Trust Exercise by Susan Choi
  • A Secret History by Donna Tartt

You’ve read 3 different books from one author who got you through it all…

Jasmine Guillory

*Thanks for suppressing your anxieties by reading with us!*

Jillian Conochan

Spotify Wrapped, but for NORMCORE.

You discovered 5 new basics in 2020, including:

  • Asics sneakers
  • Patagonia Baggies
  • A knockoff Vetements hoodie
  • Hiking
  • Nylon bomber jacket that you ironed UNRELIABLE NARRATOR on the back*

* Because quite frankly, you’re not sure if you’re doing this whole Normcore thing authentically, ironically, or authentically-ironically (sort of like how you imagine Billie Joe Armstrong’s “I’m an American guy faking an English accent faking an American accent,” began)

One item helped you get through it all… Your top basic for 2020 was

HIGH WAISTED EVERYTHING

Outside of normcore, your top genres were:

  • Gray t-shirts (stopped counting)
  • Softball uniform (29 washings)
  • Off-duty model uniform (you wish)

Your biggest binge was: the pre-owned boots you bought in a fundraising effort by the costume designer you’ve been following since XOJane. Maybe one day conditions will permit you to wear them outside the house.

*Thanks for $pending 2020 with us.*
