Each week, we issue a writing prompt to our own staff, guest contributors, and readers like you. We welcome guest submissions, so if you’re interested in being featured or regularly contributing to the site, email your responses to kelaine.conochan [at] thepromptmag.com.

We hear a lot from humans. Humans are the protagonists of almost every story. Humans run the banks. Humans control the government. Humans control the media. Humans are pretty much the only voices we ever get to hear.

And you know what? We’re kinda sick of humans.

So this week, our writing prompt focuses elsewhere. We’re asking every creative voice out write a piece from the perspective of a non-human. Go ahead! Sound off on behalf of an inanimate object, an animal, a place, a thing. Give us your best inner monologue, and for once, humans won’t interrupt.

This Week’s Writing Prompt: INNER MONOLOGUE OF A NON-HUMAN

If you’ve got an inspired ideas about how to respond to this week’s prompt, send us your submission of 400-700 words. Write us anything that comes to mind when you think of INNER MONOLOGUE OF A NON-HUMAN. It can be a personal essay, a poem, short story, script, or anything else original and fresh. Just make it worth our while and we’ll publish it, include it in our newsletter, and give you the chance to join the creative, talented staff writers here at The Prompt.

Email your responses to kelaine.conochan@thepromptmag.com by Friday, June 19th at midnight EDT.
