Each week, we issue a writing prompt to our own staff, guest contributors, and readers like you. We welcome guest submissions, so if you’re interested in being featured or regularly contributing to the site, email your responses to kelaine.conochan [at] thepromptmag.com.
Because here at The Prompt, we’re all about that teamwork. That camaraderie. That sweet, sweet symbiotic synergy. So this week, we decided to lean into it.
While usually writing can be a pretty lonesome and solitary exercise, this week we decided to pair up and see what happens when we put our best creative minds together. We paired our science guy with our funny guy. We paired our guy from Kansas with our gal from New Jersey. We paired oil with water and shook it up over salad. And I’ll be honest, I like the taste of what we’ve got so far.
But now it’s your turn.
We’re looking for fresh ideas and new voices for this week’s writing prompt. So get writing and send us 400-700 words using COLLABORATION as the prompt. Got someone who motivates you to write? Pair up with that person and send us what you cook up. Or, go on a solo mission and send us a piece about collaboration.
Whether alone or with a buddy, what you write can be a personal essay, a poem, short story, script, satirical post, or anything else original. Just make it worth our while and we’ll publish it, include it in our newsletter, and give you the chance to join the creative, talented staff writers here at The Prompt. And don’t be bashful! If you want to write with one of us, just hunt us down on Twitter and pitch your idea.
Email your responses to firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday, July 25th at midnight EST.
