As has been well documented in the media, tomorrow I will leave my office as president and return to life as a regular civilian. I want to start with words I think are always appropriate. Thank you. There is never a wrong time to say thanks, certainly not after a 4-year term like the one I was just honored to serve. Thank you.

Growing up as a small boy in Indiana, my aspirations weren’t big enough to see over the cornfields in our backyard.

But today I bid you farewell as the most well regarded and prolific president that the Hair Club for Men has ever seen.

I will not brush aside the immense pride I have for the growth we have seen across our domes and this great nation. And though I may be a lame duck president for one final day, I ask for one more thing before my time expires.

Over these 4 years, we have expanded services to marginalized hair groups and removed many of the stigmas associated with hair loss inside our community. I’ve even advocated expanding our mission and brand to Hair Club for Everyone before being voted down by some gender traditionalists.

But our work never ends. You can walk around any street, in blue states or red states, and see the denial everywhere.

We need to keep education and acceptance at the forehead of our mission.

If you see a brother or a sister struggling as you once did, I recommend engaging them in an honest, frank conversation. Let them know that there is a solution and a place for them in the Hair Club. I envision a world without shoddy comb-overs and unnecessary Costanza horseshoes. We may never achieve full coverage, but we must keep putting down our roots in problem areas.

I am proud of all that we have accomplished during my tenure and hope that the next president will continue the record growth trends to which we have become accustomed. I look forward to working with my successor to ensure a smooth transition, sharing experiences and suggestions so our future is as bright as our past.

Today I am your president, but tomorrow I go back to being just a client.
